Former Ghana U-20 coach Robert Sackey has revealed how an arranged internship for assistant Black Queens coach Mercy Tagoe broke down following negligence from the FA and the Sports Ministry.
Robert Sackey told Westgold Radio he had wanted Mercy Tagoe to come to the USA for an attachment before the just-ended Africa Women's Cup but the latter failed to show up because communication broke down following the number 12 exposé by Anas Armeyaw Anas.
"I wrote to the FA that they should allow Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo to come to the US for intern prior to the AWCON. Sports Minister Hon. Isaac Asiamah gave me a very good response but later all efforts to get in touch again proved futile,"he told Westgold 106.3 MHz.
"I told the Ministry to only buy her the ticket to the US and I will take care of the rest but since the exposé, communication broke and didn't hear from them again," he added.
The Black Queens were eliminated from the group stages of the AWCON, which was hosted in Ghana.
Mercy Tagoe led the team to WAFU Zone B championship success in February.
